Who’s Who at St John’s?

Tim Saiet

Revd Tim Saiet has spent much of his life as an illusionist and creative communicator. A former Royal Marine, he is married to Charlotte and has four children. He has worked as a church leader in London and also for the Philo Trust.

Simon Braid

Simon was ordained in 2009 after an accountancy career. He lives with wife, Susie, in Penshurst and they have three grown-up children. Simon is passionate about communicating the gospel in new ways and finding Jesus at work in the community.

Margaret Wooding Jones

Pastoral Assistant and Speaker

Margaret is married to Andy and they have two adult children. They have worked together in ministry for many years. Margaret has a role in the church to encourage prayer both personally and corporately. She is at her happiest when teaching and encouraging others in their faith.

Susan Trowbridge

Lay Reader

Susan started preaching in the Methodist church in 1975 and was licensed as a Church of England reader in 1984. She taught for 32 years mainly as an RE Co-ordinator. Children’s ministry is a passion and she is part of St John’s music team.

Marcus Hockley

Children’s Co-ordinator

Marcus joined the St John’s family full time in November 2016. Prior to arriving in Hildenborough, he was Children’s Pastor at St Peter’s Battersea, South West London. Marcus is passionate about seeing children meet with God personally so that they develop a vibrant 2 way, everyday relationship with Him. As part of this vision, he loves to see parents and carers empowered and equipped with the tools, skills and confidence to nurture their children’s faith at home. Marcus is married to Annoushka and they have one son, Caleb who was born in March 2017. As a family, they love going for walks and exploring new places together. They also love worshipping together and being involved with anything creative be it cooking, gardening, art or craft.

David Green

Church Warden

I moved to Hildenborough from my resident county of Essex in 1996 when courting my wife who lived in Leigh. We married at St Johns in 2000 and have two sons still at schools in Tunbridge Wells. I have recently taken a sabbatical from working as a CEO for Barristers Chambers in London to have a better family life whilst my sons still live at home.

Chris Mileham

Church Warden

Chris began attending St John’s as a teenager. He is an accountant working part-time in London for a travel company. He has an interest in ministry among adults with learning difficulties and is involved with the Prospects group at Tonbridge Baptist Church.

Annie Hawkins

Pastoral Co-ordinator

Annie has lived in Hildenborough for over 48 years, has three grown-up children and has worshiped at St John’s for 40 years. She was involved with HOPS for 30 years and enjoys meeting people, visiting them and having trips out.

David Wood

David is a retired Director and Company Secretary of J. Rothschild Capital Management and enjoys a busy life involving four grandchildren, gardening, community work, the gym and being a trustee of my former employer's pension scheme. He is also on the Church Hall committee.

Cynthia Fawcus

Church Centre Bookings

Cynthia has been part of the St. John's Church family for 25 years. She has two sons Philip and James. She has helped with Church administration for many years and runs the prayer chain. She sings with the Absolute Gospel choir. For Church Centre booking enquiries: 01732 833397 or cafawcus@hotmail.com.

Sal Hamlyn

Sal is married to Richard, and Mum to Josh and Isaac. Isaac was born with Down Syndrome and I now feel my “mission field” has one foot in a disabled world. I long for people to find that safe, resting place between the shoulders of the Lord.

Initially drawn to St. John’s simply by how friendly and joyful everyone was, Amanda went on to do an Alpha Course and was then baptised and confirmed at the Church in 2001.
