SUNBEAMS ARE 40

Forty years ago this September “Sunbeams”, called at the time “Mother & Toddler”, started up in St Johns Church Hall on a Monday afternoon as a place where mums could have space to relax with their children among friends. The timing and the place have not changed, just the children. Some of the mothers of those early years are still coming along either with their grandchildren or as helpers (or both). The Group is as strong as ever and the chance to explore the space on ride on toys, up and down the slide or using the miniature kitchen unit still occupies their bodies and their imagination. Some things have changed. Today we have Marcus leading the singing and once a term the bouncy castle comes out. Unchanging is the friendly welcome, the hall, and the provision of refreshments for adults and toddlers.

On Monday 25th September at 2pm. in St. Johns Church Centre. Foxbush we will be welcoming past and present leaders and you are very welcome to join them. Do come along for our “Ruby Party” and share your memories. We will be delighted to see Mums from previous generations to share their stories.
(If you can let us know if you may be coming it will help with catering. Contact  Tina Lewis 833 867.)

NB. Sunbeams now starts at 1.30pm and runs to 3.30pm.
